A joint counter-terrorism operation was launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Saturday. At least nine terrorists were killed and three personnel were injured, the officials said, as per the PTI report.
A major-rank army officer and two police personnel were among those who sustained injuries.
The operation was launched in the Shinawari Zargari area of Hangu district. This came following the intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists, according to the police.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Abbas Majeed Marwat said that a full-scale offensive by security forces was still underway. He confirmed that nine terrorists had been killed so far.
As per the report, the injured personnel have been shifted to a hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable.
Federal interior minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi reportedly spoke to the injured officials over the phone.
