The Baloch Liberation Army’s media wing, Hakkal, has released a chilling 35-minute video of the hijacking of the Jaffar Express, with 450 passengers on board, in March, where the group bombed a remote railway track.
The Baloch outfit dubbed the hijacking “Operation Darra-e-Bolan 2.0" and revealed the first detailed account of events, challenging Pakistan's official statements whilst demonstrating the BLA's operational command.
The footage revealed BLA's systematic attack preparations against Pakistani military, featuring their training sessions, reconnaissance activities, and tactical discussions. Senior commanders outlined strategies for stopping the train, managing hostages and countering military helicopters.
In the video, a BLA member explains their position: "Our struggle and war has come to a point where we are to take such critical decisions. Our young people are equipped to take such steps, for they are aware that except such decisions there are no other options left. A gun is needed to halt the gun. The sound that comes out of a gunshot may reach a point."
The spokesperson further emphasised their commitment: "Baloch young men have taken the decision today to attack the enemy without any hesitation and care about their lives. Today if a son is leaving his father behind to sacrifice his life, so is a father leaving his son behind to sacrifice himself for the cause."
The recording concluded by honouring their deceased fighters who lost lives during the military engagement. They expressed determination to persist in their campaign until achieving complete success, whilst declaring the Pakistani military's authority would soon end, ANI news agency reported.
This comes days after Baloch leaders, including activist Mir Yar Baloch, had announced Balochistan's independence from Pakistan. "We have claimed our independence and we request India to allow Balochistan's official office, and embassy in Delhi," said Mir. Following this declaration, Pakistani authorities initiated extensive operations in Balochistan, leading to disruptions in internet connectivity and power supply across numerous regions.
