NEW DELHI: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists on Sunday in Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Alert Indian Army troops while carrying out an intelligence based operation have established contact with terrorists in general area of Dul in Kishtwar in early hours of 10 Aug 2025," said the White Knight Corps in a post on X. Further confirming presence of terrorists it added, " Gunfire exchanged. Operation under progress."
Security forces initiated a search operation in the Dool area of the hilly district after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists. Upon encountering the search teams, the terrorists, estimated to be two in number, began firing, resulting in a gunfight, reported PTI, quoting officials.
