NBC was halted for urgent breaking news as concerns for US president Donald Trump's health grow across the globe. Yesterday, Trump told gathered military officials that he wants to use the city of Chicago as a "military proving ground" - sparking worries that he has gone too far, and that the 25 amendment should be invoked.
The amendment is in regard to "presidential vagrancy and disability", and states that the vice president should take control if the president is no longer able to lead. Now Illinois governor JB Pritzker has spoken out, calling Trump's remarks "inane".
Live on NBC, the news anchor said: "Governor Pritzker tonight is calling for President Trump to be removed, asking for the 25th amendment to be invoked.
"It is in response to President Trump telling military leaders earlier today that, quote, 'Dangerous cities like Chicago should be used as a training ground for the military'. Our political reporter Mary Ann Ahern with the story."
Pritzker was heard saying: "Sending troops into cities, thinking that's some kind of proving ground for war... or that indeed there's some sort of internal war going on in the United States is just, frankly, inane. I'm concerned for his health."
Ahern explained: "Governor Pritzker has gone even further, suggesting using the 25th amendment to remove Trump from power."

The Illinois governor said: "There is something genuinely wrong with this man, and the 25th amendment ought to be invoked."
But reporter Ahern went on to clarify: "While the governor and the mayor denounced bringing troops to Chicago, Republican state lawmakers disagree. They welcome the federal intervention."
It comes after a Guatemalan mother, father and their two children were arrested together last weekend, with their pastor explaining that he is "heartbroken" over images of the young girl who "doesn't know what's going to happen".
