A man has died at Milan Bergamo Airport in Italy after he was reportedly sucked into an aeroplane turbine. All flights at the airport were suspended from 10.20am local time (9.20am BST) until midday after the emergency.
Unconfirmed reports claimed the victim was a 35-year-old. The plane was reportedly on the taxiway preparing for take off when the grim incident happened.
Airport operator, SACBO, confirmed that an "incident" happened at the airport. A flight tracking service on social media reported at least 19 flights were grounded as a result of the death.
Further unconfirmed reports published locally suggest the man took his own life after getting round security and gaining access to the airport's runway.
