Lucy Letby's lawyer has claimed he has new evidence that could clear the name of the killer nurse. Letby's barrister Mark McDonald said this new evidence is giving her "hope" after she became a "broken woman" behind bars.
Her barrister Mark McDonald says he has new evidence pointing to her innocence. He said he has 26 separate experts and 1,000 pages of fresh evidence to back up his claim, which he has passed on to the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

Letby, 35, is currently serving life in jail after being convicted of the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of seven others between June 2015 and June 2016.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, he said: "I was instructed a year ago this week.
"There is obviously a concern here among experts that something is seriously wrong.
"A year ago when I went to see her she had lost everything and she said no one believed her, she was a broken woman.
"Now seeing these experts saying no crime was committed she has hope."
Writing in The Telegraph, he said Letby was an "exhausted woman, eyes red with tears" when he visited her in jail.
Mr McDonald added: "Lucy had lost every battle, her cries of innocence had gone largely unheard, she had lost one of the longest trials in British history, and most recently had been denied leave to appeal. She was broken and without hope."
He stressed he has "no doubt" she will one day be free with his comments coming ahead of a new documentary on the killer nurse.

Last month the Daily Express reported how a recent BBC Panorama documentary about the Letby case was edited following complaints.
Lucy Letby: Who to Believe? aired on August 11, but just days later, on August 15, the BBC were forced to concede that complaints made about the content of the Panorama special were valid, and they have now made alterations to the film.
The first upheld complaint pertained to incorrect figures in respect of the percentage of ventilated shifts she had worked in the Liverpool Women's Hospital, in which babies' breathing tubes came out.
"Panorama looked at two periods during which Lucy Letby had worked at Liverpool Women's Hospital in 2012 and 2015. The programme reported that a review by the hospital had found the nurse had worked approximately 50 ventilated shifts there and that babies' breathing tubes came out on around 20 of them, or 40 per cent. We have since learned that these figures are wrong," they acknowledged.
The second issue saw them completely remove a line from the film. "In the programme, we also stated that the review found that babies' breathing tubes came out 40 times more often than normal when Lucy Letby was on shift. We have now removed that line from the programme and some associated commentary," their lengthy clarification continued.
It comes after it was revealed Letby is under 24-hour guard after lags taunted her over her case's coverage. Staff check every 15 minutes to ensure Britain's worst child murderer has not been attacked or harmed herself.
It is part of an Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT) order placed on Letby, 35, at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey.
There have been claims Letby has become "deluded" about winning her freedom after a campaign questioning her guilt.
A source said: "She's been mercilessly mocked about all the documentaries about her. She's in the news so much she's become a target. She appears to have deluded herself she'll be out soon.
"It's as if all the publicity's gone to her head. The ACCT was opened so they can keep an eye on her and help her cope with being infamous."
Letby, who targeted infants at the Countess of Chester Hospital, was given jail after being convicted of seven murders and seven attempts in 2023.
She got a 15th life term after being convicted of trying to kill a premature baby after a retrial.
The ex-neo natal nurse is said to be chaperoned by prison guards wherever she goes, and special areas have to be cleared whenever she wants to visit - due to the high risk of her being attacked by fellow lags.
Letby allegedly moans she's the "fattest I've ever been" due to her diet of junk food, including chocolate.
