Hailed 'the gift that keeps on giving' and the 'perfect gift for a gardening addict', shoppers are singing the praises of a unique 25 day advent calendar as an 'alternative to the usual chocolate'. The Gardening Gifts Advent Calendar 2025 is filled with premium vegetable, salad and herb seeds, plus twine and clips for display and a growing guide.
Typically £34.99, for a limited time, Amazon has reduced this 'lovely calendar for garden lovers' by 29%, bringing it down to £24.99. That means each packet of seeds comes in at less than £1.
The Grow Your Own Advent Calendar contains seeds that are premium heirloom varieties, specifically chosen as they are easy to grow in the UK, all year-round. Previous customers have confirmed that there is a 'great selection' of seeds in the 'great value' advent calendar.
And, users confirm that all seeds germinated and were a success. One person shared a review that says: "Brilliant, all the seeds came up and parents were so happy. Excellent present."
A second shopper declared: "I seriously loved this gift. Every single day, I was like 'What seed am I going to get next?' It was something that I looked forward to that I would race to right after I woke up. I really hope to get another box for next December. It's a fun little thing with a lot of seeds. And what you think would be a general box that you'd open is way larger than what you'd expect."

There are other alternative advent calendars to shop on the market - those that fancy a cuppa every morning might want to get hold of the Bird & Blend Tea Co. Advent Calendar. It's on sale for £39.49 at Selfridges.
If keeping the car in tip top condition is a priority this winter, the Halfords 40 piece Advent Calendar, retailing for £30, should come in use.
But, if it's gardening on the radar, Amazon's seed advent calendar isn't short of glowing reviews. Someone wrote: "I bought this item for my daughter who has just moved into a new home and she says it's the best advent calendar she's ever seen and can't wait to start sowing the seeds."
However, a person did point out that while there was 'no repetition' among seed types, 'the only comment is there could be more vegetable seeds and fewer herb seeds.'
This wasn't an issue for another customer, that picked the calendar up as a present. They said: "I bought this for my wife who is a keen gardener. She absolutely loved it and we are looking forward to growing and eating the fabulous selection from this calendar. 24 different packs of seeds plus a thorough guide on day 25 makes this a gardener's dream gift. There was also a code on the guide to get another pack of seeds free so and extra bonus. Can highly recommend this for the gardener in your life."
