Jeremy Clarkson and Lisa Hogan's three plane crashes and near-death experience

Jeremy Clarkson and girlfriend Lisa Hogan have stunned fans by revealing they've survived three near-death plane crashes. Lisa also shared a jaw-dropping image from the 1996 plane crash she miraculously walked away unscathed from.

The Irish former model, now 51, was just 25 when the Learjet she was travelling in careered off the runway at RAF Northolt and smashed into a van on the A40, splitting the aircraft in two.

Lisa posted the harrowing snap of the mangled wreckage on Instagram this week, writing: "Amazingly the pilots, van drivers and I survived. I took another flight the same day. And landed safely."

It's the first time she's publicly revisited the terrifying ordeal in years, but it comes just days after Jeremy revealed the couple have survived three crashes between them.

The Clarkson's Farm star, 65, opened up in an interview with The Sunday Times, saying: "Whenever Lisa and I board an aeroplane, we are usually pretty confident that it will land safely because between us, we've walked away from three crashes over the years."

He went on to describe his plane crashes as "fairly minor" with "broken landing gear", but revealed hers was a "proper shunt".

He explained: "She was the only passenger in a Learjet that careered off the end of the runway at Northolt and on to the A40, where it was hit so hard by a van that it split in two.

"It's amazing no one was killed, and if you Google the images, you'll see what I mean."

In something like out of a Final Destination film, Lisa, who was flying in from Spain for a film role at the time, previously told the Irish Independent she'd been asked by the pilot to change seats - but refused.

"I insisted on sitting where I was," she said at the time. "Which was just as well because that was the area where the van came through when we crashed and I would have been killed instantly."

Jeremy and Lisa began dating in 2017 after being set up by friends, and now run the Diddly Squat farm together in the Cotswolds.

Back in April, Lisa hinted she was hoping for a proposal. In a past episode of their Amazon Prime show, Jeremy had teased a surprise during a country walk - only to show her a fallen willow tree growing back. When she asked again about the proposal, he said: "I'll think about it, OK? I'm not ready yet."

Lisa later joked: "Jeremy doesn't think I proposed but he wasn't wearing his hearing aids, so no one will know."
