The UK is set for some autumn sunshine according to weather maps. The forecasts comes after maps revealed that the UK will be hit by a barrage of heavy rain next week, but according to maps by Net Weather and WXCharts, the stormy conditions will be followed by sunny spells, with Brits across various regions basking in on the balmy weather.

Net Weather maps show that temperatures could reach up to 23C in parts of England. The warm weather forecasted for September 20 will mostly cover the south with Greater London, Essex, Hertfordshire, and Surrey amongst the many counties that will welcome the hottest of temperatures throughout the day.

Temperatures begin to fall as you move northwards in the country. The maps show that the Midlands will welcome balmy conditions. However, temperatures will be slightly lower, ranging between 18C and 22C.

Northern England should expect cooler weather with temperatures forecasted to stay between the mid-10s and high-10s. The lower temperatures will also be accompanied by spots of rain, which can be seen to hit areas like Newcastle and Manchester. Though rainfall will also occur in Essex and across the Midlands.

The Met Office notes spells of rain that will affect "most of the UK at times" in its long-range forecast for September 14 to September 23. However, the weather agency predicts that dry weather will develop towards the end of the period.

It states: "Later in the period, there may be some spells of drier weather that develop, especially towards the south, with more in the way of sunshine. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in drier, sunnier spells."
