BT is handing out £50 to tempt Brits into switching their broadband this month. The telecoms giant has launched the special offer to customers if they switch from current providers including Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk.

As a reward for joining BT, customers will be able to claim a £50 virtual gift card to spend however they wish at countless retailers. The deal is available when signing up for BT's Full Fibre 150 broadband through Currys-backed site Mobiles.co.uk.

For £29.99 per month, this plan provides average speeds of 150Mbps, which is ideal for streaming, downloading, and gaming online simultaneously. This plan usually costs £32.99 direct with BT, saving customers £72 over the 24-month term.

Those in need of faster speeds could opt for the £34.99 Full Fibre 500 option, providing speeds of 500 Mbps and a £75 gift card. To get these 'online only' deals, shoppers must commit to a 24-month contract, but BT will also waive any setup fee to get things up and running.

Once the broadband is live, shoppers can claim a prepaid card within three months, which will come loaded with £50 to spend online or over the phone at retailers who accept Mastercard payments. One thing to keep in mind is that, like many broadband providers, BT will increase its prices each year as inflation rises.

BT has already confirmed that its £29.99 plan will rise to £33.99 from March 2026 and £37.99 from March 2027. However, BT isn't the only brand dishing out freebies, as Sky is offering an £85 gift card to shoppers ordering its £24 Full Fibre 150 plan.

Also available through Mobiles.co.uk, this deal comes with an £85 gift card, but is due to expire on August 21. Elsewhere, Virgin Media is in the middle of its Summer of Sports sale, with more than £300 off select TV, Sky Sports and broadband bundles.

These options are more pricey, starting at £54.99 for the Bigger Combo Bundle + Sports, but they also come with much more, including more than 200 TV channels, Sky Sports access and 516Mbps broadband.

For those sticking with Mobiles.co.uk, the retailer may not be the first brand that comes to mind for home broadband, but it has earned a 4.3-star overall rating from customers shopping its mobile and home deals. One five-star review says: "Fast and easy process. Offers so good BT and Three could not compete."

Another says: "Really good service, easy transfer to my new provider. Would definitely recommend."

Not everyone has enjoyed a smooth experience though, as this review says: "Requested my number to be changed which never did and had to put in a new request. Rest of the service was good."

While another glowing review says: "Excellent service and a great saving on our deal. First rate from staff and company. Definitely will use this company again."
