Jane McDonald was devastated in 2021 when her partner Ed Rothe died - but what has she revealed about finding love once more?
Television star Jane, 62, was in a romance with musician Ed for more than ten years. The couple first dated as teenagers in the 1980s before reigniting their relationship years later following a chance encounter in 2008.
Their bond flourished, and Jane and Ed became engaged on Christmas Day that same year. Tragically, in 2021, Ed passed away aged 67 after a brief fight with lung cancer.
Since his death, Jane has stayed single and has been sharing her home with best friend Sue Ravey, who also joins her on Celebrity Gogglebox.
Jane's 'not fussed' about romance in futureIn 2023, Jane was questioned about whether she was seeking love, two years following Ed's passing.
"I'm not bothered. I'm really not. I don't feel like I need someone in my life to make it fulfilled," she told MailOnline at the time.
She continued by applauding her friends for their support. Jane said: "We have a coping mechanism. I have a great group of girlfriends now, who are all in the same situation, we have a great time, we go out, we have dinner, drinks, parties round each others' houses.
"We're all in the same boat and it's lovely to know that there's someone there that you can call at three o'clock in the morning and say, 'I'm having a bad day.' I don't feel like I need anyone."
Last October, Jane suggested she might be receptive to future romantic encounters. She revealed: "I'm not saying I'd never date again, but it's way down on my list of things that I want to do.
"I was very lucky, I had the most amazing relationship with Ed, and not many people get that in life. So, if I never have another date in my life, that's fine. If I do, that's also fine."
Speaking to Heat Magazine, the vocalist continued: "I'm not shutting the door, but I have a great life without thinking I need a man in it. Singledom can be quite liberating."

This year saw Jane on ITV's Lorraine discussing her role presenting the 2025 British Soap Awards. During the event, Jane confessed to 'flirting outrageously' with a Coronation Street star.
When presenter Ranvir Singh enquired about who leaves Jane feeling "starstruck" she laughed: "I was a bit starstruck and flirted outrageously.
"I did with Kit Green and even asked him if he bought handcuffs, but he didn't answer me. He's just beautiful, and it's funny because he's quite a villain in Corrie" Corrie's fresh face, Kit Green, portrayed by Jacob Roberts, made his first appearance on the soap last year, playing the role of Bernie Winter's (Jane Hazlegrove) estranged son.
