Barwani News: In Madhya Pradesh's Barwani district, a mobile phone placed under a pillow exploded, setting the bed on fire. Fortunately, a farmer narrowly escaped.
Barwani: A farmer's mobile phone suddenly exploded on Monday night in Anjad police station area of Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh. Fortunately, the farmer did not get any injury at the time of the incident, but the bed and mattress caught fire.
Actually, 35-year-old Vinod Septa, a resident of Talwara Bujurg, said that he was sleeping last night at around 1 o'clock and he had kept his mobile phone under the pillow. Suddenly there was a loud explosion-like sound, after which when he looked, the mobile phone had exploded. Due to the explosion, a big hole was created in the cotton mattress and it caught fire, due to which smoke filled the room.
Vinod Septa said the mobile phone was worth around 18,000 rupees. Vinod's father, Bhagwan Septa, said the mobile phone was about three years old and as soon as it burst, he poured water from a bucket in the room. He said God saved him from serious damage. Had Vinod slept on his right side instead of his left, he could have certainly suffered serious facial damage.
Overheating: Storing your phone under a pillow or bed prevents heat from escaping.
Overcharging: Leaving your phone on charge for extended periods or using a counterfeit charger.
Battery damage: Using old or duplicate lithium-ion batteries.
Mobile phone owners should exercise caution in this regard. Mobile phones should not be placed under pillows or beds, and mobile phones should not be covered while charging. Only use company-approved chargers and batteries. If the phone overheats, turn it off immediately. Local police have investigated the incident, although no complaint has been filed. The incident has once again warned people to be cautious about careless mobile phone use.
