A woman has been left gobsmacked after hearing what her cousin has her daughter - making her wonder whether it's an elaborate joke. She explained how she came across the announcement on , which is only uses to keep in touch with her who live far away.
While she was delighted to hear her cousin and her newborn were happy and healthy following the birth, she couldn't help but cringe at the name her cousin had given her child. Speaking on the Tragedeigh thread on , where people discuss the most unfortunate baby names they have come across, she said: "I looked at the name of my new cousin and... It's Renesmae.
"My cousin took a very famous tragedeigh [colloquial term for a bad or misspelled baby name] and turned it into even more of a tragedeigh! Her daughter's middle name is Krysten after her older sister who passed some time ago."

Renesmee was the name of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen's child in the saga. However, the woman says her cousin isn't a "hardcore Twilight fan" and simply mixed combined several names together to get the moniker - the same way the film's protagonists came up with the similar name in the book and film franchise.
She added: "Our grandmother's name was Mae and my cousin's middle name is Renee. That's the only reason I think she gave her daughter that name.
"It's the name Reneé and the name Ésmé put together. First seen (I believe) as Bella and Edward's daughter from Twilight, Renesme [sic] Cullen. In the book, It's their mom's names combined.
"As for my cousin, the Reneé makes sense since that's her middle name. But there's no Ésmés in our family? There is a Mae (our grandmother).
"Being 23 and thus alive during the Twilight hype and hate era, I think she would have realised how much hate this kids' going get on her name alone before people notice that it's spelt different.
"However she's in another state and on my father's side of the family who I barely have contact with anyway."
Commenting on the moniker, one user said: "My mum works in paediatrics at a big hospital, she had Renesme on multiple occasions."
Another user added: "There are sisters Rosalie and Renesme at my kids school. At least when they are older at not always together, Rosalie won’t automatically get labelled as having a Twi-hard mother. Poor kids."
A third user said: "I'll do you one worse - a girl I went to school with called her daughter Ronessmae. So not only did she name her a stupid name after a Twilight character - she absolutely butchered it as well. Shameful."
One more user said: "Other than the Twilight connection, it just looks and sounds awkward personally to me and a few others. I'm a native French speaker, and that makes it even more awkward."
