Holidaymakers were left gobsmacked after a plane which appeared to be performing stunts suddenly crashed in the sea.
Tourists in Mallorca watched on in horror after the small aircraft seemed to encounter trouble before plummeting into the water. At first, the jet was seen flying low, but demonstrated no signs of concern. When it crashed, witnesses gasped as emergency services rushed to the scene.
Now, a major search has launch after the plane vanished in the water. The incident happened at around 8.20pm at the resort village of Soller in the north-west of Mallorca. It comes after two best friends celebrating birthday were killed in explosion after lighting candle.
Dramatic video footage showed the aircraft was being driven by propellors as it flew low over the sea. At the moment, the number of occupants and their condition is unknown, although members of the Fire Station of the Port of Sóller, Maritime Rescue and the GEAS of the Civil Guard have been immediately activated to carry out search and rescue work.

The authorities are working intensively in the search for possible survivors or victims. The Mallorca Fire Department, says everything indicates that one or two people could be on board. As yet, the plane has not been located.
Maritime Rescue, Mallorca Firefighters and Civil Guard divers and patrol boats have rushed to the place where the aircraft has capsized. Rescue tasks are complicated by the absence of light. The crash happened near Soller's port which is surrounded by cliffs, houses and hotels.
Over in Egypt, a famous stuntman tragically fell to his death mid-way through a performance in front of shocked holidaymakers. Flyboarder Magdy Abdelghany, 44, is said to have plunged to the ground in Sahl Hasheesh. He sadly lost control of his equipment on July 13. He was raced to hospital with head injuries and passed away days later.
Red Sea Security Director Hassan Abdel Aziz said: “The flyboarder fell from a great height during a performance. Medical services were immediately dispatched to the scene, and a preliminary investigation showed that the athlete fell during the show and suffered multiple head injuries.”
His brother said in a statement: “We announce with deep sadness and sorrow the passing of my brother, my mother's and father's son, my friend, my heart, and my entire life, Magdy Abdelghany, who passed away. A tribute will be held at the Al Mina Mosque events hall immediately after prayer on 18 July.”
