Emmerdale who Aaron picks in Robert and John triangle 'revealed' in telling scene

Robert Sugden wasted no time in causing drama on on Thursday night, and soon his ex Aaron Dingle had a big choice to make.

Ryan Hawley reprised his role on the soap on Wednesday in a huge twist, with Robert interrupting Aaron's wedding to John Sugden. Robert finally met his secret sibling John, and on Thursday night the pair clashed as the battle for Aaron's affections commenced.

Robert was seen pleading with Aaron not to go through with the wedding and to give them another chance. He suggested despite recent snubs, he still loved Aaron and always had.

Things escalated as a panicked Aaron struggled with what was unfolding, and after speaking with his ex they shared a kiss. But just as the episode left fans predicting a Robron reunion was on the way there was a change of heart.

As Robert pleaded for another chance, Aaron berated him for coming back now after so long. He fumed over the fact he'd not said a word, wanted a divorce and had not even tried to leave prison before changing his mind and suddenly wanting to come back.

With that and the backing of his mother Chas Dingle, he vowed to go ahead with his wedding to John. But things got awkward after John's own run-in with Robert when his brother went to confess all about the kiss.

He suggested John's hopes for marriage with Aaron were "dead in the water", ironic given John's murder victim Nate Robinson is currently in the lake. But when Robert realised Aaron was hurting he decided not to confess all and instead claimed Aaron had chosen John instead.

But John wanted to hear it from Aaron, and he wanted to know if the wedding was going ahead after Aaron had stormed out earlier on. With that Aaron couldn't give an answer with John telling him he was going back to the wedding venue and would wait for him to show up or not.

The episode ended with Aaron expected to choose between both loves, but who will he go for? While his response will be shared on Friday night, a scene and some comments by actor Ryan may have teased where Aaron's heart lives.

Regardless of what he decides in the present, will Robron find their way back to each other? In the scene with Robert, the kiss could be a giveaway that his feelings are still there.

That said, the fact he did not agree then and there to get back with Robert and actually told him it's John he'd chosen could suggest the wedding will go ahead. The scene with the three of them at the end could have further hinted this, when Aaron signalled to Robert not to share all about the kiss.

Robert's message that Aaron had moved on basically and wanted John appeared to seal the deal that Aaron was planning on continuing with the wedding. So it does seem that on Friday there's every chance Aaron marries John and picks him, especially with it seeming that Robert will be away from the village before his permanent comeback.

Of course though there's every chance old wounds and feelings will resurface and at some point, Robron will reunite. Robert is back to finally get his man, sharing his feelings and hoping to reconcile.

It's Robron and it's Emmerdale so we're not expecting an easy ride, and there's no doubt plenty of angst along the way. If Aaron did pick John too he would not take it well, and it seems more fitting for Aaron to continue with his new flame all the while harbouring feelings for his ex, ready to send killer John into a spiral.
