In a tragic incident at Tagore Nagar in Vikhroli East, a 66-year-old rickshaw driver allegedly drove recklessly, causing two consecutive accidents that resulted in one fatality and three injuries.
The accused, Jallindar Bhimaji Dongre, a resident of Varsha Nagar Park Site, Vikhroli West, has been booked by the Vikhroli Police under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act.
Pedestrian Hit at Bindu Madhav Thackeray ChowkAccording to police, the first collision occurred around 6 PM on August 2 at Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk signal on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR). Dongre, driving rickshaw MH 03 CN 2014 at high speed, hit Manoj Kumar Pandari Goud (28), a resident of Suryanagar, Vikhroli West, who was standing at the signal.
Cop and Traffic Warden Rush Victim to HospitalPolice Head Constable Jyoti Ramesh Gite (49), who was on duty at the time, along with a traffic warden, immediately rushed Goud to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Hospital in the same rickshaw.

The injured were identified as Radhamohan Vishwanath Panigrahi, Saibani Panigrahi, and Chandradevi Verma. They sustained minor injuries to the limbs and head.
Victim Declared Dead; Case Registered
Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors declared Goud brought dead, while the other injured victims were admitted for treatment.
The Vikhroli Police have registered a case and are continuing the investigation into Dongre’s negligent and dangerous driving.
