Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police caught a maid for stealing a diamond bracelet worth Rs 12 lakh from a house in Tukoganj area within hours on Saturday.
However, after the stolen bracelet was recovered safely, the complainant forgave the maid and the police later released her. According to Tukoganj police station in-charge Jitendra Singh Yadav, Nisha Jhunjhunwala, a resident of Classic Gold Apartment in New Palasia area lodged a complaint that a diamond bracelet was missing from her place and she had doubted her domestic help and the driver.

Then, the woman, who is a domestic help at Jhunjhunwala’s flat was sitting outside the interrogation cell, came inside and confessed to stealing the diamond bracelet.
When the police were gathering information about the bracelet, the maid sitting outside the interrogation room allegedly confessed to stealing the bracelet from there and hiding it in her house. Following the lead given by the maid, police recovered the bracelet from her place.
The complainant identified her bracelet that she had bought for Rs 10 lakh about 10-12 years ago. Its current price is said to be around Rs 12 lakh. The maid, who allegedly confessed to stealing the bracelet, informed the police that she had stolen it because she had a wish to wear it and also said that she was going to return it after wearing it for a few days.
She apologised to the complainant at the police station for her act. After getting her bracelet safely, the complainant forgave the maid and refused to file any report against her.
