A 11-month-old baby has miraulously survived the flash floods triggering in Himachal Pradesh. The incident happened on the night of June 30 in the Seraj Assembly constituency, where the baby's parents and grandmother allegedly swept away in the flood waters amid heavy rainfall.
Completely unaware of the tragedy, the 11-month-old baby named Nikita was found alive at her home. When the water levels started surging, Nikita's family members, father Ramesh, Mother Radha and grandmother Purnu Devi attempted to divert the direction of floodwater of the overflowing stream behind their house.

Recently, a viral video is grabbing attention nationwide, where Nikita was seen with of Smritika Negi, the SDM of Gohar (holding additional charge). The baby girl can be seen playing in the arms of SDM unaware of the tragedy. Currently, Nikita is being cared for by her paternal aunt, Tara Devi.

According to the reports, the child was asleep inside the house, and remained safe. Her father, Ramesh's body has been recovered. Search operations are still underway for Radha and Purnu Devi.
Smritika Negi, the SDM of Gohar (holding additional charge), confirmed the outpouring of support, stating that she personally receives calls from individuals offering to adopt Nikita. She added that Nikita is a lovely child and that she makes an effort to spend time with her during her visits.

Meanwhile, in another instance where two pregnant women were stuck in the heavy flash floods. In a video posted on X, Smritika can be seen helping the pregnant women transporting in her personal vehicle. The X post said, "Two pregnant women affected by the disaster were assisted by SDM Gohar Samritika Amar Negi ji, who played a key role in transporting them to the hospital in her vehicle. These two women were rescued by the villagers. With the help of local people, the administration ensured that both women were taken to the hospital on time."

The flash floods occured on June 30 and July 1 has shaken the area. The floods have taken multiple lives and left many homeless.
