A Complete Ban on Offering Coconuts
The Maa Naina Devi temple is an ancient and prominent Shaktipeeth. Located on a high hill in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, this place is located on Trikuta Mountain and is also known as Trikuta Dham, a place of devotion for devotees. This year, during Navratri, the administration and the temple trust have imposed a complete ban on offering coconuts within the temple premises, citing security concerns. This step has been taken due to the heavy crowds and security risks at the temple. Devotees who bring coconuts to visit Mata Naina Devi's shrine are stopped at the main entrance, their coconuts are taken, and returned upon exit.

Convenience and Security Considered
Temple priest Manish Sharma says that coconuts are taken from devotees at the main entrance and returned as prasad near the exit. This arrangement is important for the safety of devotees and the temple complex. He explained that due to the large number of devotees arriving during the Navratri fair, it has become necessary to tighten security measures. This rule was implemented solely with the convenience and safety of devotees in mind.

An idol of Kali Mata has also been installed alongside Naina Devi.
According to the Shakti tradition, when Lord Shiva was carrying the dead body of Mata Sati, Lord Vishnu used the Sudarshan Chakra to reduce her weight. Mata Sati's eyes (nayan) fell at this very spot, hence the name Naina Devi. It is considered one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple houses the two eyes of the Goddess, along with idols of Mahakali and Kali. The Goddess is believed to be seated in the form of Shakti, flanked by Lord Ganesha on the left and Lord Kalbhairav on the right.

It is considered a Jagrat Peeth of Shakti.
It is said that Guru Gobind Singh received the Goddess's blessings here before the battle with the Mughals. This place is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Himachal and is considered a Jagrat Peeth of Shakti. Stairs and ropeways are available to access the temple. The temple administration stated that such arrangements are implemented every year during the Navratri fair to ensure that no untoward incidents occur despite the large number of devotees. Along with ensuring security, the religious rights of the devotees are also respected.
