Chennai is likely to see more rain and thunderstorms today, as weather systems over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea continue to feed moisture into the region.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai said that while rainfall may persist through the day, no warnings have been issued for tomorrow.
Earlier on Tuesday, several districts of Tamil Nadu, including Tiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and the Delta regions, witnessed heavy rainfall.
The RMC had issued orange and yellow alerts for various parts of Tamil Nadu over the next four days, cautioning of intense spells, especially in coastal areas.
The heavy rain caused waterlogging in a few low-lying areas of Chennai and slowed traffic in several parts of the city.
However, the weather office clarified that there is no specific alert for Chennai on Wednesday.
Authorities have urged residents to stay updated through official weather bulletins and avoid venturing into waterlogged zones during heavy showers.
