The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the eagerly anticipated Class 10 and Class 12 board results. Students can now view their scorecards on the board's official website cbse.gov.in.
Over 93% of students have passed the CBSE Class 10 board exams this year; however, more than 1.41 lakh candidates have been placed in the compartment category and will need to reappear for certain subjects. Over 1.99 lakh candidates have scored above 90 per cent marks, while 45,516 candidates have scored above 95 per cent. A total of 23,71,939 candidates had appeared for the CBSE class 10 board exams.

For class 12, over 1.29 lakh candidates have been placed in compartment list this year. A total of 1,11,544 candidates have scored above 90 per cent marks while 24,867 candidates have scored above 95 per cent marks.

CBSE Class 10 passing marks
Class 10 students must achieve an overall score of at least 33% in each subject, combining theory and internal assessment.
CBSE Class 12 passing marks
Class 12 students must secure at least 33% in each subject separately – 33% in theory and 33% in practical exams (if applicable) to pass.
CBSE results revaluation
Class 10, Class 12 CBSE students who are unsatisfied with their board results can also apply for revaluation. This year, CBSE has introduced a major change in its post-result process for Classes 10 and 12: students will now receive photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets prior to submitting requests for marks verification or re-evaluation.

What to do if you have failed Class 10 or Class 12 CBSE board exam?
Class 10, Class 12 CBSE students who fail in one or two subjects in the board exam can apply for a compartment exam as a second chance at passing.

Each compartment student is allowed up to three attempts:
July/August of the same year March/April of the next year July/August of the next year
What if a student fails all three compartment attempts?
If a student fails all three attempts, they must reappear for all subjects in the following academic year. For subjects that include practical exams, if a student passes the practical but fails the theory, their practical marks will be carried forward. However, if the student fails the practical, they are required to retake both the theory and practical components of the exam.
Official platforms to download CBSE results and scorecards
Students must use designated channels to check and download their CBSE results. The primary websites include cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in. Additional platforms such as DigiLocker and UMANG also provide direct access to digitally signed scorecards and certificates. To prevent misinformation and data breaches, CBSE has warned against using unofficial portals.
The result will also be accessible via SMS and IVRS for those unable to access the internet. Students simply need to send “CBSE10 ” or “CBSE12 ” to 7738299899 or call 24300699 (with the area code) to receive their marks.

To view your result online:
Step 1: Visit cbse.gov.in or results.cbse.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the Class 10 or Class 12 result link on the homepage.
Step 3: Enter your roll number, school number, date of birth, and admit card ID.
Step 4: Submit the details to access your scorecard.
Step 5: Download and save the provisional marksheet for reference.
For DigiLocker access, students must log in using the mobile number linked to their Aadhaar and the 6-digit PIN provided by their schools. Once logged in, students can download their marksheet, migration certificate, and other academic documents.

Digitally signed scorecards are legally valid
The scorecards downloaded from DigiLocker and other official platforms are digitally signed and fully recognised for college admissions and recruitment processes. Students will be able to collect physical copies from their respective schools after the official declaration.
CBSE’s digital-first result delivery mechanism, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and IT, ensures efficient and secure access for lakhs of students. With the board discouraging the release of toppers' lists to avoid unhealthy competition, students are advised to focus on their own results and future academic planning.
