Zoho has launched new POS (Point-of-Sale) devices in India. Businesses can now accept payments directly from their customers via debit/credit cards, UPI, or mobile wallets. Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu explained that these devices will be connected to the company's entire ecosystem, making payment acceptance even easier and faster.
Last year, Zoho received payment aggregator status from the RBI and simultaneously launched its online payment services. Now, these new POS devices will also facilitate offline transactions.
Payments will be made through the Arattai app itself
Vembu explained that Zoho has partnered with NPCI's NBBL to further strengthen the digital payment system in India. Additionally, Zoho's instant messaging app, Arattai, will soon be integrated with Zoho Pay. This means you can send and receive money directly from the Arattai app.
The Arattai app has seen rapid growth recently. In just three days, app traffic increased 100-fold, and daily new signups jumped from 3,000 to 350,000. To handle this rapid growth, Zoho immediately added new servers and infrastructure and improved the code.
Demand is rapidly increasing.
Vembu said the company was originally scheduled to release a major update in November, but due to the sudden increase in user demand, all teams are focusing their full attention on supporting the app.
Overall, Zoho's new POS device and updates to the Arattai app will make payments and communication easier and faster for businesses and users.
