Xavi Simons has been active on social media as he awaits any developments on his future amid interest from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer and football.london understands that there is still an expectation and confidence that a deal with Chelsea will be completed.
The west Londoners have remained in contact with Leipzig as talks continue.

football.london also understands that the German club are in negotiations to sign Harvey Elliott from Liverpool. The Mirror have now reported that Elliott has agreed terms on a four-year deal with the Bundesliga side.
This could be a boost for Chelsea, as Simons may be the next player whose future is set to be resolved after Benjamink Sesko's move to Manchester United was confirmed on Saturday.
This week, PA Sport reported that Leipzig are interested in re-signing Blues forward Christopher Nkunku and hope to include the 27-year-old in any potential deal for Simons. Despite ongoing negotiations for the Dutch international this summer, no agreement has been reached.
However, Leipzig’s interest in bringing back Nkunku, whose time at Stamford Bridge has been hampered by injuries and a modest return of six Premier League goals, could help pave the way for a deal.
Simons, capable of playing both as an attacking midfielder and a winger, could offer a more versatile attacking option than Nkunku.
With his future still unresolved, Simons will be hopeful of joining Sesko in the Premier League soon. Unitedofficially announced the Slovenian striker’s arrival on Saturday, prior to their friendly against Fiorentina.
As Sesko took to Instagram to express his gratitude for his time at RB Leipzig, Simons was among the many to respond, writing: "Happy 4 you brateeee" followed by four red heart emojis.
Chelsea have been very active this summer, signing Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr.
