Sonia Bompastor has thrown down the gauntlet to Chelsea's Women's Super League adversaries, urging them to "come with us" and match her team's success after the Blues clinched the FA Cup, rounding off a domestic treble at Wembley.
Following their emphatic 3-0 win over Manchester United, Chelsea wrapped up Bompastor's inaugural season at the helm with an unbeaten streak across 30 domestic games and set a new record of 60 points in their undefeated league run.
While Chelsea have their sights firmly set on the Champions League trophy for the next term, Bompastor recognises that a strong domestic contest is essential for Chelsea to hone their edge for European challenges, which means their rivals need to dig deep financially.

"I think it's important for most of the teams to invest in the women's game, because I think if you have more competition, you are able to perform better," the Chelsea manager remarked.
"Even for me, I'm not going to say I want all the other teams to go down, because it will be different.
"We want to have competition, because when you know you have to compete, it's where you produce your best. So as a manager, as a club, as a team, as players, I think this is what we want and what we need to be an even better team.
"As a Chelsea team, we want to make sure we are top of the league and bring everyone with us. This is what we want to achieve, but we need the other teams to react, to still invest and come with us."
Chelsea's latest financial boost comes from Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who was spotted at Wembley with tennis legend and spouse Serena Williams, cheering on as the Blues clinched victory with goals from Sandy Baltimore and Catarina Macario.
Ohanian, who has acquired an 8-10% stake in the Women's Super League champions for a reported £20 million, shared his vision with the BBC to make Chelsea the "queens of global soccer" and sees them as a potential "billion-dollar franchise".
While some are concerned that Chelsea's lead may become insurmountable, especially with new celebrity backing, Michele Kang's London City Lionesses could present a fresh challenge.
Meanwhile, teams like Manchester United and their manager Marc Skinner, who acknowledges the need to "find diamonds" in the transfer market, are grappling with how to bridge the financial chasm.
Skinner expressed his determination: "I need to go and find the other answers," acknowledging the financial aspect and the club's lower spending compared to Chelsea. "They spend and they win for it. I don't know. I won't rest over the summer. I'm going to find a way that we can close that different type of gap, but we do need investment as well. Of course we do and I think the club know that."
